When it comes to condos, there are several buildings where units are bought and sold several times before they are even completed and ready for residents to move in. While some are the highest in luxury, others are more reasonably priced and just happen to be in the best Toronto neighbourhoods or offer some additional amenities. Here are some of the most talked about condo developments and why you might want to invest in a unit in one of these buildings, if you can.
One of the most talked-about condo developments in the past few years has been the Trump International Hotel and Tower. This 70-storey building will be located at the corner of Adelaide and Bay Streets and Donald Trump himself has named this one of the most exciting building projects of his career to date. From Oakville condos to those downtown there is now starting a trend that the most luxury condos are now also part of a four or five star hotel. Here, twenty floors are devoted to overnight guests, while there are thirty-five floors for residents. And the other twenty-five floors are all amenities for both parties to enjoy.
This is not the only hotel/condo hybrid to come to Toronto in the next couple of years. Within Yorkville there will also be the Four Seasons Private Residences Toronto and the Ritz Carlton Residences in the Entertainment District. Each is designed to be elegant and stylish while offering all of the latest innovations and amenities to all of their clients. If you're looking for a Toronto waterfront condo or something in the shopping district, you'll need to have some money to spend if you want to get into one of these buildings.
From those surrounding St Lawrence Market to those in King West, there is certainly a trend for new condo lofts. These come in two different styles. Places like Brewery Lofts in East Toronto are refurbished buildings that were once warehouses or factories. Alternately, a place like The Kings was built from the ground up specifically for the purpose of becoming loft-like homes. When you're looking at properties with your Toronto or Etobicoke real estate agent you will notice many similarities between the two designs but the converted buildings have more of that "historic" quality, while the modern buildings have cleaner lines.
If you don't have the desire to live right in the downtown core, than one of the areas where developments are quickly increasing in popularity is North York. Buildings like Royal Pinnacle and Platinum Towers have many of the same amenities as their counterparts in Yorkville or Toronto Annex real estate with a slightly lower price tag. There are even penthouses and townhouse options for those who don't wish for a standard condo unit.
